Mayon Volcano, also known as Mount Mayon, is an active volcano in the province of Albay, on the island of Luzon in the Republic of the Philippines. Renowned as the "perfect cone" because of its almost symmetric conical shape, Mayon forms the northern boundary of Legazpi city, the largest city in terms of population in the Bicol region. The mountain was first declared as a national park and a protercted landscape on July 20, 1938 in the country. It was reclassified and renamed as Mayon volcano natural park in the year 2000. Local folklore refers to the volcano as Bulkang Mayon ("Mayon volcano"), after the legendary heroine Daragang Magmayon ( "Beautiful Lady").
Lignon Hill The 156-meter high Ligñon (also spelled Lingñon, pronounced as /li-NYON/) Hill has always been one of Legazpi’s most famous landmarks. For years, Ligñon Hill is known only for the PHIVOLCS observatory located in its flanks and an old lighthouse on its summit. Today, it has become one of the city’s prime destinations for sightseers, adventurers and even fitness buffs. The new Ligñon Hill Natural Park promises to be the city’s best destination offering sights and activities for all types of visitors. For sightseers, a panoramic 360 degree view of Legazpi City, Daraga, Albay Gulf and the Mayon Volcano awaits at the viewdeck. A landscaped promenade as well as restaurants and shops also cater to guests.
The Cagsawa Ruins (also spelled as Kagsawa or Cagsaua) are the remnants of an 18th century Franciscan Church, the Cagsawa church, built in 1724 and destroyed by the 1814 eruption of the Mayon Volcano. They are located in Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, in the municipality of Daraga. The ruins, currently protected in a park overseen by the municipal government of Daraga and the National Museum of the Philippines, are one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. They
are considered symbolic of the dangers of living in close proximity with the
Mayon Volcano.
Entrance to the Cagsawa site is only ten pesos. You buy souvenirs from small stands and street vendors selling trinkets. Cagsawa is only a 30 minute drive from Legazpi City proper into the town of Daraga.

Embarcadero de Legazpi is a world-class waterfront lifestyle hub at the
Legazpi City harbor, the first of its kind in Southern Luzon. As Bicol’s premier urban mall, Embarcadero redeems the glory days of the
Legazpi City port district, which was once the region’s melting pot of economic activity as Spanish trading galleons used to dock in it. More than a venue for shopping, dining, and entertainment, Embarcadero is
also home to one-of-a-kind adventure sport, the 350-meter zipline from a lighthouse over the Albay Gulf.
At the heart of this waterfront mall is the Celebration Plaza, a 105 sq. m. event center that can accommodate conventions, social gatherings, beauty pageants, fashion shows, competitions, and other events. Embarcadero also has a 90-feet high skywalk to give a million peso view of the historical Albay Gulf, the cityscape, and the world-famous Mayon Volcano. It also has a 59 ft. Climbing Wall and a Bungee Trampoline.
